God created us to be in community with Him and one another. It was his design and purpose that we would need each other always. This makes perfect sense when we consider that God exists in a perfect trinitarian relationship: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Relationship is at His core, and since we’re made in his image, so are we.

What is most remarkable is that when we break that unity, when we rebel, are disobedient, and choose to reject God, He chases after us to re-establish the relationship. He comes close. He pursues. He “came down from heaven.” What a source of joy that is!
