The Benefit of Accountability

We all want honor. But most often, we want honor without the hard work that goes before it.
We want honor without discipline.
We want honor without accountability.
We want honor without a rebuke.
The truth is none of us like discipline. For too many of us, the thought of discipline brings up memories of harsh punishment. For some of us, abuse.
Yet discipline, when done right and in love, is the practice of training for certain behavior. It includes encouragement, privileges, and positive feedback for the right behavior, as well as penalties or negative consequences for poor choices.
To become wise and remain wise, one must have a teacher, a sage, an accountability partner. We need someone outside of ourselves to help us see what we might be blind to. We all have blind spots!
Who holds you accountable?
